AErial encounters

Every month I post a new professionally edited short film that will be meaningful to someone. From wedding proposals to skate videos, I’ll pick someone I encounter in the wild and produce a video for them to cherish forever.

Joy Run 50

After the suddent death of her Brother, Tanya Joy was racked with grief. Her solace finally came in the form of a 100km running race on the West Coast of Newfoundland. In honor of her brother and with the intention of spreading the peace running brought her, she began the Joy Run 50. A 50km running race through the wilderness of the most eastern coast of Canada. Tanya reached out to me after seeing some of my videos of the East Coast Trail and thought my style would suit the event. I was excited to film runners on my favourite trails but after hearing the origin of the Joy Run, I felt compelled to create something she would find touching and beautiful. Before the run, I scouted and planned several launch locations with a couple of angles at each. In total I filmed in 8 locations over 5 hours and captured almost 200 usable clips of runners giving it their all.
